Membership to suit your time on the water
Alexandra Yacht Club offers membership for families, individuals, sailing craft, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and members who only require launching access.
Membership Types
Family Membership
Suitable for family members living at the same address who wish to take part in club activities and enjoy access to the club's facilities.
Single Membership
Individual membership for adults wishing to enjoy the club, take part in activities and use the club's facilities.
Monohull
For members keeping an approved monohull sailing boat at the club, subject to available space and the club's jetty rules.
Catamaran
For members keeping an approved catamaran at the club, subject to available space and the club's jetty rules.
Kayak or Canoe
For members storing an approved kayak or canoe and launching from the club jetty, subject to available storage space.
Stand-Up Paddleboard
For members storing an approved stand-up paddleboard and launching from the club jetty, subject to rack availability.
Launch Only
For members who wish to launch an approved craft from the club jetty but do not require storage at the club.

Membership Fees 2026
The amount payable by a new member depends on the period of the year in which the membership begins.
* A one-off joining fee of £55 applies to all memberships throughout the year.

Joining during the year
How the part-year charges work
January to June
100% of the annual fee
Applications accepted between January and June are charged at the full annual rate.
July to September
50% of the annual fee
Applications accepted between July and September are charged at half of the annual rate.
October to December
25% of the annual fee
Applications accepted between October and December are charged at one quarter of the annual rate.
The club will confirm the applicable charge and any available storage arrangements when the application is approved.
Craft Storage and Launching
Applicants should state the type of craft they intend to keep or launch when completing the membership application.
Storage required
If storage is required, please identify whether the craft is a monohull, catamaran, kayak, canoe or paddleboard. Storage is subject to available space and approval by the club.
Launching only
Select Launch Only where a craft will be launched from the club jetty but will not be stored at Alexandra Yacht Club.
How to join
The membership process

Choose your membership
Select the membership and craft category that best reflects how you intend to use the club.

Complete the application
Submit your details through the online membership application form and provide all relevant craft information.

Informal conversation
A committee member will contact you to arrange an informal conversation, either in person or by telephone.

Acceptance and payment
Once accepted, the club will confirm the charge due and provide instructions for payment.
Once you have joined
Your welcome information
Following acceptance and payment, your membership confirmation and welcome information will be sent by email.
Your welcome information will normally include:
- The club events programme, where published
- Jetty Rules
- Information about club facilities
- Relevant padlock and door access codes
- Details of the club WhatsApp group
- Information about the AYC 200 Club
Club Rules and Probationary Period
New memberships are subject to a one-year probationary period .
Members must comply with Alexandra Yacht Club's constitution, Articles of Association, byelaws, jetty rules and applicable club policies.
Applicants are advised to read the relevant club documents before submitting an application, including:
- Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Club Byelaws
- Parents' Charter
- Jetty Rules
